Romney RNC Speech : Random Reactions

OK ... lots of Saber rattling.

America is great, America is wonderful, the look towards the future optimism that is uniquely American. Really ?

" ... when you need to do the really big stuff, you need an American. "

Not that it should matter, but he is totally downplaying the fact that he is a Mormon.

Hes taking about women's right to have an equal say in what goes on ... Has he read the new republican platform that was just passed ? I guess not.

"... and I knew that her job as a mom was harder than mine, and I knew that without question that her job as a mom was a lot more important than mine. " Subtext ... that a woman's job is to raise the kids. Also note that he says nothing about his job as a father.

"... Its when our son or daughter calls us from college to talk about which job offer they should take. "
Yea, if your one of Mitt's kids ... does he know how hard it is to get a job today and how many college grads have nothing and end up working retail because its all they can get ?

Paraphrase Mr Romney ... Remember how good you felt when you voted for Mr Obama

" You know there is something wrong with the kind of job he has done as president when the best feeling you had is the day you voted for him. " Um I have felt very good about things he has done since then Mr Romney.

Lots more crap about Obama being a government (translate Washington) insider.

" ...and yet the entire centerpiece of the president's entire reelection campaign is attacking success. " yea that's a lie.

" has lead the worst economic recovery since the great depression. " Wait, what ... the great depression was not an economic recovery, it was an economic collapse. Also he has tried and been stymied time and time again by the republican lead house of representatives.

Bullshit does tend to sound better when you practice it.

" ... but this President can tell us that you're better of today than when he took office. " Perhaps, but we are certainly better off than we could have been without his actions. If it had been the same ole republican/Romney hands off approach most economists agree that this would have been as bad or worse then the great depression.

" Americans have supported this President. " Really, um, I think there have been a fair bunch .. republicans since 2008/ teabaggers since 2009 / the house of Representatives since 2010 who have not supported him hardly at all. Soooo that would be a lie. One of many this speech.

" Put aside the divisiveness " Oh that is so the pot calling the kettle black.

" We will be energy independent by 2020 by focusing on our cola and oil. " That's totally unsustainable bullshit.

" We will reduce the deficit " Clinton did it, and then Bush's republican policies put us right back in the hole.

Towards end of speach ... hes talking about things we do not want ... things that have been long term problems of America not anything you can point a finger at one president, but hes using it to ralley people.

" God Bless America " oooook. That's nice. What about atheists ? what about polytheists ? These people have contributed to our nation as well. God and religion have to come out of politics. Plain and simple.

OK so, those are my thoughts on Romney's RNC acceptance speach.
