Once upon a time the political process was not so mean, not so deceptive. It was about two or more people stating their records and what they believed in. It was about the 4th estate acting in an impartial manner. It was about informed people makes a choice among worthy candidates. This is how it was supposed to be.
Instead we have the current climate. Two parties who fight and squabble amongst themselves. A press that varies truths in shades of grey from vague impartiality to boldface fact twisting. And a supreme court that says money can be spent on politics without accountability. Now campaign contributions that flow like champagne while candidates get drunk on the power.
The Power giant piles of cash generate. It can obscure the facts, It can hide the truth. It can make important things insignificant and stupid things seem like they will crush our country.
The people are blinded. They believe lies because the media reports things like they are the facts. Because the candidates are too few and some believe that facts don't matter while others think the populace is smart enough to see the BS ... Most of them are not.
In the end this will be a contest about convincing the blinded populace that they have the plan, that they have the answer, that they are better than the other guy.
